MANAGING YOUR NECKTOP COMPUTER
BACKGROUND
Microchip technology doubles in speed and capacity ever eighteen months. As computers continue to develop power, it is dramatically changing the way
human beings live, work, play, and communicate. A fact that has made it
necessary for individuals to grow, develop and change. This is supported
by the fact that individuals are facing one of the biggest upheavals since
the industrial revolution and must seek ways and explore possibilities
to reinvent life. They must develop new capabilities and gain mastery
over neck top computers. They must strive to continually improve results,
establish balance in their life and simultaneously develop cutting edge skills
to remain competitive and at the forefront of progress and opportunity
OBSESSION
WITH SPEED
As new challenges are presented, as new concepts and new philosophies transform
the world around us, thousands of windows open close and rearrange
in our brain. As accelerated and unprecedented change continues to gather
momentum people must also maintain momentum. Today many people describe the world as more, complex,
more demanding and more chaotic than any time before in our history. A
revelation that is supported by the fact that we have significantly higher
cases of stress reported each year and the use of anti-depressants as
a means of coping with ubiquitous life styles has significantly increased over the last five years.
THE
CONNECTION
Few people ever realize that whilst reading these words the brain is active
with multiple activities. It monitors blood pressure,
listens to sounds, controls limb movements, controls fluid levels, coordinates
eye movements and is the central point responsible for focus. It processes
sensory perceptions by making sense of sights and pictures and matches
words with mental templates in order for them to be understood. Whilst
performing these critical functions it is also capable of engaging various
stages of consciousness identified as reverie, projection and
the present. It
gives birth to thoughts and distinguishes responsibilities that we have
to self, family and business. It identifies tasks and responsibilities
that must be done to guarantee professional security, reminds us of the
responsibilities we have to protect important personal relationships and
generates ideas that could enhance personal health and well being. In
essence the neck top computer are responsible for generating personal
energy derived from four primary sources, mental, emotional, physical
and spiritual. As
a result we can deduce that as individuals in one body with one brain,
we actually live four dimensionally as the brain produces thoughts as
to what performance and results are necessary to achieve professional
outcomes, it identifies skills that are necessary for personal development,
it allows attitude and emotions to become a controlling influence and
tries to resolve where we want to be three years from now in respect to
career, family, health, wealth, time and relationships. Everything that
is associated with being an individual, a team player, a partner in life
and a parent.
THE METAPHOR
Welcome to the world inside your head. Arguably the most important resource
that individuals have at their disposal to improve personal performance
management, increase personal satisfaction and achieve a quantum leap
in professional outcomes. In
metaphorical terms the exchanges or interplays within the brain are akin
to the windows on the more readily understood desktop computers. In simplistic
terms the brain is a neck top computer, a computer that can become ineffective
if not protected and managed effectively. A computer that needs to be
understood, developed, trained, maintained, continually improved and protected
against the negative influences of other people, influences that are best
described as viruses. Similar
to desktop or laptop computers, the quantity of windows open at any one
time will impact on both the effectiveness and functionality of the brain
and like the desktop computer, unnecessary widows will draw more power
than is absolutely necessary to run one, two or three windows at a time.
In simple terms when a desktop computer has multiple windows open it reduces
the speed and processing abilities, the same situation that can and will
affect neck top computers, something that will inevitably produce mental
fatigue, a condition rising in incidence, a condition that impacts adversely
on personal and professional futures.
THE
REALITY
Microchip has changed the way individuals live, work, play and communicate.
Something that has provided individuals with more information to process,
more choices to make and more electronic connectivity to deal with than
ever before in our history. As a result of this, companies are striving
to drive profits up whilst simultaneously containing costs as they experience
increased competition, and vigilant consumers continue to demand speed,
accuracy and value. The reality is that all of this is to be achieved
by fewer and fewer people. In other words the human asset factor, the
people, are more important than ever before as they learn to cope with
increased business expectations as well as learning to cope and manage
other dimensions associated with modern day life. A life that requires
balance. A life that requires people to continually be at the cutting
edge of potential and opportunity.
MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
To ensure desktop computers continue at peak performance, they are subjected
to a series of processes and maintenance procedures from cleaning the
hard drive and deleting files to upgrading programs and enlarging capabilities
to ensure speed and effectiveness are maintained. In likeness the neck
top computer requires the same treatment, yet paradoxically, we can't
buy programs to install on our neck tops. What we can do is program
our neck tops to influence results and effectiveness. Whilst true,
it is also an unfortunate reality that most people claim to be too busy,
forfeit control and surrender to phrases such as (take your pick), "when
things slow down at work", "that's the way I am, I've always been like
that", "I would like to change, but can't", 'when the kids
have finished school" or the most popular "one day I'm going
to take some time for me".
All of these constitute language that form "excuse-itis", where any excuse is a good excuse. However if people want to change they must take control of neck top computers, identify desired outcomes, understand the realities of change, develop new skills to influence results and basically change the flight plan. Something that can be achieved through thinking, focus, development and regular rejuvenation. A word meaning to energise, revitalise and relax physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
THE INNER WORKINGS
Essentially the brain is divided into two separate hemispheres. Both are covered with tissue called the
cerebral cortex. In a sense it is a thinking cap that contains all of
our thoughts, plans and ideas, thoughts that linger, until discarded or
completed. Thanks
to the infinitely complex interplay between nature and nurture, no two
brains are exactly the same. Even genetically, identical twins have different
brains by the time they are born because the tiny divergence in the foetal
environment of each is enough to affect their development. The cortex
of twin babies is visibly different at birth, confirming that, structural
variations and perceptions inevitably produce differences in the way brains
function and hence the diversity of individuality.
INDIVIDUALITY
Although the brains functions produce one set of thoughts, reactions and
actions, they spring form the different methods of processing by each
hemisphere of the brain. So different are they that we effectively have
two individuals in one skull. One resides in the left side of the brain,
which seeks detail and is analytical, logical, rational and precise, whilst
the other lives in the right side of the brain and is creative, artistic,
emotional and conceptual. Simplistically speaking we can identify windows
as either left or right, red or blue, however the colour is important.
The significant factor is how many different windows we have open at any
one time. The
fewer the windows and the continuation of colour the better the focus
and the greater the energy to be directed towards completing tasks. The outcome is that tasks are completed quicker, with greater confidence
and less error, which produces a greater sense of control
and more time is to deal with other important aspects of life.
THE
SOLUTION
Focus on clean-ups and multiply energy. Essentially this
strategy deals with categorizing tasks and responsibilities into must
do (focus), should do (buffer) and could do (minor) and developing a work
plan, that complements the distinctions. Supported by a skill known as
attending. Attending enables the mind to do two things; one is to concentrate on the the
present and focus on current challenges, the other is to develop
mind-lock, (the ability to stay focused and not allow distractions to
break focus). When people overwhelmed or over burdened the mind tends to race through various stages
and interplays ranging from reverie, present and future. This prevents people from
being able to focus on the present. As
a result, errors occur, communication is affected, anxiety builds and
time becomes a blur. All of this leads to unnecessary energy being spent
and will inevitably induce a condition known as mental fatigue. This will substantially reduce
both personal and professional effectiveness and in time will have an adverse effect on health.
When applied Focus on Clean- ups and multiply energy can bring a degree of simplicity to what was previously a life filled with complexity. For more information on this and other strategies, send you request to: - Info@epsolutions.com.au
