PURPOSEFUL GOAL ACHIEVEMENT

One of the most exhilarating experiences that can be experienced by individuals is the attainment of pre-determined goals. Goals that are challenging and meaningful. However many people have difficulty defining goals and identifying targets.

The following list of questions is designed to prompt your thinking when considering future goal achievement. It is suggested that you write a brief answer to each question whether or not you consider it relative to your cause at this moment. Once you have contemplated your answer to each of these questions go back and circle those of utmost importance and priority.

1. How much free time would you like to have each year?

2. How much money would you like to save each year?

3. What net worth would you like to have three years from now?

4. What specific habit would you like to break?

5. What personality trait would you like to develop?

6. What kind of home would you like to own?

7. What improvement would you like to make in your present home?

8. What would you like to do on your next holiday?

9. How can you better communicate with your family?

10. What leadership skill would you like to develop?

11. How can you improve communication with your co-workers?

12. What management skill/s would you like to develop?

13. What new office would you like to obtain?

14. What new position would you like to attain?

15. What new knowledge would you like to acquire?

When you have completed this exercise it is beneficial to get things into perspective. What are the things you really enjoy doing?

Once you have completed this stage of the exercise you can begin transferring meaningful and important goals onto your Master Journal of Goals.

When completing your master journal of goals we recommend that you construct the list in the sections headed, Area of Life and Item first. Prioritisation and appropriate time frames for achievement will be recorded when the master list is complete, and goals are transferred to the appropriate goal lists i.e.; short, medium and long term.
